Director-actor K. Bhagyaraj, who played the villain in a few films early in his career in the late seventies before switching over to play the hero and directing films, is still known as the ‘king of screenplay writing’ as far as Tamil films are concerned.
It is reported that the veteran might return to his villainic ways with director Mysskin’s upcoming film. It may be recalled that Bhagyaraj played the hero-cum-villain in his Vidum Varai Kaathiru more than three decades back and played a half-villain in the Rajesh-Vadivukkarasi starrer Kanniparuvathile.
For the past decade or so, he has only been essaying father’s characters in films and though he got many offers to play villain, he steadfastly refused all those offers. He has, however, said ‘yes’ to Mysskin to play the antagonist in his upcoming directorial venture Thupparivaalan which has Vishal in the lead.
It may be recalled that Mysskin turned Pandiarajan, Bhagyaraj’s ‘sishya’ and who had never played the villain, into an antagonist in his film Anjathay many years back!
