Choreographer-filmmaker Prabhu Deva has termed ‘Jayam’ Ravi as ‘mini’ Kamal Haasan in terms of his efforts to look realistic as an actor on screen.
‘Jayam’ Ravi’s upcoming film Bogan, co-starring Hansika and Arvind Swamy, is all set to release in theatres on 23rd December, thus setting up a box-office clash with Suriya whose S3 is also releasing on the same day. The crew and technicians of Bogan met the press recently and shared their experiences in making the film. Lakshman of Romeo Juliet fame has directed Bogan.
Prabhu Deva, who has co-produced Bogan, was also present at the press-meet which was attended by the film’s lead actors. “Bogan was to be my first production venture but Devy released earlier. It’s always tough to direct challenging scripts; I have to congratulate Lakshman who has done a very neat job. Ravi, Hansika and Arvind Swamy have all done their jobs very well.
“In my opinion, ‘Jayam’ Ravi is a ‘mini’ version of Kamal Haasan; on the sets, he remains very quiet but when the shoot commences, he takes a different avatar and fine-tunes his performances by paying attention to even the minutest of things,” Prabhu Deva said. “I was also surprised by Hansika’s performance,” he added and said that he also found a ‘close friend’ in Arvind Swamy during the film’s shoot.
