Actor Vijay called on superstar Rajinikanth at the latter’s shooting spot in Chennai, triggering rumours that his meeting was intended to seek the latter’s permission to str in the remake of Rajini’ super-duper hit film Annamalai which released in 1992.
Crew of Vijay’s latest film Bairava wrapped up the shoot of the film, which is scheduled to hit the screens during Pongal next month, yesterday. Soon after the shoot was wrapped up at MGR Film City, Vijay heard that superstar Rajinikanth was also in the same premises, shooting for his upcoming Shankar-directed 2.0.
Vijay’s meeting with Rajini lasted not more than 10 minutes. Rajini was apparently in a new get-up for his role in the film and Shankar reportedly restrained photographers from talking photos of Vijay and Rajini so as to ensure that the get-up is not leaked.
Though nothing was formally revealed as to what transpired at the meeting, it is said that Vijay sought Rajini’s permission and blessing to star in the remake of the latter’s 1992 super-duper hit film Annamalai. If Rajini accords permission, Vijay and Atlee would start the film’s shoot within the next few weeks.
