Miya George, the Malayalee-origin actress, is very hopeful that her upcoming Tamil film Rum would put her in the top league of actresses in Kollywood.
24-year old Miya has already delivered two hit films in 2016 in the form of Vetrivel and Oru Naal Koothu. She asserts that she is not the second heroine in Rum which has Hrishikesh (remember Dhanush’s younger brother in the 2014 super-hit film Velaiyilla Pattathari?), Narain, Sanchita Shetty, Vivek, Amzath Khan and Arjun Chidambaram in lead roles.
The actress, who has only starred in 5 Tamil films so far, asserts that her character in Rum has huge scope for her to explore herself as an actress. “I play Thulasi who lives with her father and younger brother. In my view, it’s a memorable character and I can’t reveal more details at this juncture about my role in the film but can only assure that the script revolves around my character,” she says.
She adds that whether or not she plays a ghost in the film should be known to her fans and audiences only when the film hits the screens.
“Let the suspense element prevail; why should we kill it?” she asks as a matter-of-fact. “I always look for good scripts before taking up film offers and would continue to adopt this yardstick in future too,” concludes Miya.
