M. Rajesh, the director of Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru which hit the screens across the State last Friday (18th November), has tendered an open apology to all those who might have been felt ‘hurt’ by some sequences/dialogues in the film.
Starring G.V. Prakash Kumar, Anandhi, Prakash Raj, Nikki Galrani and RJ Balaji in lead roles, the film reportedly mocked actress-director Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s popular reality television show Solvadhellam Unmai wherein Lakshmy speaks to ordinary people from society who have problems in their families in an apparent effort to sort out the differences and mediate in (re)solving the issues.
Speaking to newsmen recently, Rajesh said he was happy that the film has collected ‘heavily’ at the box-office in its first few days and hoped that the trend would continue in the days to come. “It’s a feel-good fun film and I’m not conveying any message to society through my film. We didn’t purposely plan to hurt anybody’s sentiments or feelings as we meant to make it only as a fun film.
“If the film has, by mistake, hurt anybody’s sentiments/feelings, I tender an open apology to them. The film is liked by youths. I don’t take criticism harshly as it is always easy to criticize but is very difficult to create anything,” Rajesh concluded.
