Namitha, who was tagged as ‘Ms. Oomph’ not so many years back, has expressed her concern about the growing incidents of sexual abuse of kids and girls in the country in general and in particular in Tamil Nadu.
“Not so many artistes would broach the topic but I have something to say on the issue,” Namitha began her speech while speaking at the audio-launch of an upcoming film titled as Chhaya which has been directed by V.S. Palanivel who has also produced the film on behalf of his banner ‘Appa Amma Cine Pictures’ besides penning the story, screenplay, dialogues and lyrics.
Actor Srikanth released the film’s audio CDs and cassettes which were gleefully accepted by a beaming Namitha and actress Vasundhara in the company of stunt choreographer ‘Jaguar’ Thangam. “I’m glad that Chhaya has taken up a relevant social issue. Only films and politics can guide the society and that’s why I have evinced keen interest in both the fields.
“I realize that the film is all about parenting; it is imperative to be good parents to your kids. I’m going to talk about an issue which not many artistes speak about on stage. Today, we come across so many cases of child sex abuse which disturbs our conscience; they take place in the neighbor and in Schools. It’s important for parents to teach their kids to realize what is ‘good touch’ and what is ‘bad touch’.
“I appeal to all the parents to talk to your children a lot; it’s the duty of both the parents to do this,” Namitha concluded after wishing the film’s crew a huge success.
