Ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon has said that unlike other heroes, Simbu never annoyed him to narrate the full script to him. “He would feel extremely satisfied if I narrated the script only in parts,” he added.
Menon was speaking at the meet-the-press event organized in Chennai yesterday in connection with the release in theatres today of Simbu’s much-awaited and much delayed Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada. Directed by Menon, it pits newbie Manjima Mohan opposite Simbu. As this is the second film with the Simbu-Menon combination after the super hit Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya, Simbu’s fans are obviously excited.
“Though the film has a delayed release, I’m sure audience and Simbu’s fans would patronize it in a big way. I’m sure Rahman’s music is an added feature which would draw crowds to watch the film in theatres. I still regret the fact that we couldn’t organize a formal music launch of the film’s songs and are releasing them only a day before the film’s actual release in theatres.
“Simbu cooperated very well during the making of the film; he is a good friend of mine and I feel very comfortable working with him. He never annoys me the narrate the full script and feels absolutely satisfied if I narrated the script in parts. I have made some sincere attempts to add ‘mass’ element in the film and I hope Simbu’s fans like it. I’m also sure Manjima would go places in Kollywood in future,” Menon concluded.
