Amala Paul is all set to step into the shoes of actress Malavika by taking on the role essayed by the latter in a new film, planned to be the sequel to Thiruttu Payale.
A decade after the film’s release, Susi Ganesan, who penned the story, screenplay and dialogues of the Jeevan-Sonia Aggarwal-Abbas-Malavika starrer, is all set to make a sequel to it. Amala Paul, who separated from her director husband Vijay a few months back, has been signed up to play Malavika’s role in the sequel.
Amala is now playing Dhanush’s heroine in Vetrimaaran’s triology Vada Chennai and amid rumours that there exists an ‘unofficial’ ban in Kollywood against signing her up, she has been chosen by Susi Ganesan to star in the Thiruttu Payale sequel. Bobby Simha replaces Jeevan while Prassanna plays a prominent role in the sequel.
Amala taking on the role of a sizzler, who enters into extra-marital affair, has excited her fans as except for her debut film Sindhu Samaveli, Amala hasn’t taken on any ultra-negative roles till now.
