Veteran actor Sivakumar, whose 75th birthday was celebrated in a grand manner yesterday in Chennai, has appealed to the youths in the country to get married only after falling in love. “Love is so pure that I want it to be spread everywhere,” he said.
A grand celebration was organized in Chennai by his actor sons Suriya and Karthi to mark the occasion where two books authored by Sivakumar were released. Sivakumar was cheerful and overcome with emotion when he met newspersons later.
“Journalists have helped many couples unite; even my son’s marriage was prompted only by rumours planted by newsmen. I’m happy that my son fell in love with and got married to the girl whom he loved. I want everybody to fall in love and get married. Ten years from now onwards, there would be no more arranged marriages; all the marriages would be the culmination of love affairs.
“It’s not a crime to fall in love; love the girl, get married to her and spent the next 40-50 years of your life with her. That would be the ideal victory of love which should help keep the couple united till their lifetime. I hereby appeal to all the youths to fall in love and get married,” Sivakumar concluded.
Point noted, Sir!
