National award-winning actor Dhanush and Trisha, the lead pair of the upcoming film Kodi, are to tour the State in an apparent effort to publicize the film in typical ‘Bollywood style’.
Dhanush’s last three films have fared in a less-than significant manner at the box-office and he appears determined to deliver a hit film with his Deepavali release Kodi which hits the screens on Friday (28th October).
Dhanush’s friend and director Vetrimaaran has produced the film which has been directed by R.S. Durai Senthilkumar, who made Ethir Neechal and Kaaki Sattai in the past.
For the first time, Durai Senthilkumar gets to direct Dhanush in the film which pits Dhanush for the first time opposite ‘good friend’ Trisha.
Anupama Parameswaran of Premam fame has essayed a prominent role in the film which has music by Santhosh Narayanan. Dhanush has essayed dual roles for the first time in his career in Kodi which has a political script and which has been given an ‘U’ certificate by Censors.
In order to publicize the film properly, Dhanush will be undertaking a ‘Bollywood style’ tour of the State along with Trisha. Dhanush, who has so far starred in two Hindi films in Raanjhanaa and Shamitabh, has seen lead cast members of Hindi films going around and visiting major cities to publicize their films and has apparently decided to put into practice what he learnt from Hindi films.
As per available reports, Dhanush, Trisha and other crew members would be visiting Madurai, Trichy, Salem, Coimbatore and Tirunelveli for two days i.e. on today and tomorrow (25th & 26th September).
