Remember Bollywood’s Vivek Oberoi who stole Tamils’ heart with his selfless service when Tsunami ravaged the shores of Tamil Nadu in 2006? The 40-year old actor would soon be rubbing shoulders with Ajith Kumar by playing his villain in his upcoming untitled film directed by Siva.
Vivek, son of veteran actor-producer Suresh Oberoi, was awarded the ‘Red & White Bravery Award’ for his Tsunami relief work in Chennai and elsewhere. The actor also adopted a village in Tsunami-ravaged Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu, thus making him dear to the people of Tamil Nadu. He later debuted in Tamil films with Raththa Sarithiram in 2010.
Ajith plays an Interpol officer in the film whose first schedule of shoot was wrapped up recently in Austria and surrounding localities. Kajal Aggarwal gets to pair up opposite Ajith in this untitled venture, which would be Ajith’s third film directed by Siva after successful ventures such as Veeram and Vedalam. The second schedule got underway in Hyderabad some time back.
Hunt for the film’s antagonist had been going on for some time. After Sudeep (of Naan Ee fame) and Bollywood’s Abhishek Bachchan turned down the offer, it fell on Vivek Oberoi who is said to have agreed to star in the film as its villain. A formal announcement about Vivek’s casting is expected to be made soon.
