Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s Ammani has been confirmed to be showcased in the US with a special screening.
“I have been raising my voice against many issues, especially against the wrong portrayals of women in cinema and the negligence of social resposibility by this powerful medium by not providing the right role models,” says Lakshmy.
“Many people mostly women agreed with me, and some disagreed. After ‘Ammani’, I can feel the difference, my voice is ‘heard’/ recieved…or say getting attention!!! ‘Ammani’ is a statement… irrespective of success or failure, we shall continue in the path we believe in. Ammani is accepted globally and the response we get is ample proof for the same.
There is special screening happening this weekend at Towne cinemas, San Jose, San francisco and the profit will reach the Indian literacy project. ILP is committed to increasing literacy in India and they are known for being transparent and accountable. I thank A P international, Cinegalaxy, and Swaram for making this possible,” Lakshmy adds.
