Actor ‘Jayam’ Ravi is an artiste who doesn’t mind undergoing physical changes in his get-up to suit the needs of the characters he plays in his films. After last year’s colossal hit film Thani Oruvan and this year’s super-hit venture Miruthan, Ravi has been very careful in choosing his scripts.
His next two films would be Lakshman-directed Bogan opposite Hansika and Vijay-directed Kumari Kandam opposite Sayyeshaa Saigal, the 19-year old Tollywood actress who would soon be making her debut in Hindi films. Sayyeshaa is the grand-niece of veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar. Lakshman gets to direct Ravi for the second time in two successive years after last year’s hit film Romeo Juliet.
Hansika, who surprisingly is out of contention among producers and directors in Kollywood, has just this solitary film on hand which is also her third film opposite Ravi after Engeyum Kadhal and Romeo Juliet. Ravi’s Kumari Kandam, directed by Vijay and produced by his father Azhagappan, has music by Harris Jayaraj. It also has him playing a tribal youth.
In order to suit his character in the film, Ravi is said to be pumping it hard at the gym to acquire a rough-and-tough physique and eating only protein-rich foodstuff.
