It is rumoured in Kollywood that actor Madhavan demanded Rs.2.5 crores to make a ‘guest appearance’ in a film under production.
Madhavan hasn’t been in the best of form for the past many years now. He made a grand comeback in Tamil films early this year with the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Irudhi Suttru which was directed by Sudha Kongara and which had stunning portrayal by professional boxer-turned-actress Ritika Singh, who even won a national award under special category for her effort.
The former ‘chocolate boy’ of Alai Payuthay, who debuted in Tami films more than 15 years as hero, delivered many hit films early in his career and later moved on to Bollywood to try his luck in Hindi films. His last few films including Manmadhan Ambu and Vettai did only average business at the box-office. Despite the success of Irudhi Suttru, Madhavan hasn’t been flooded with films unlike the case of Ritika Singh.
It now turns out that a producer, who has been in the field for some years now, approached Madhavan to essay a cameo in his film. Madhavan immediately agreed to his proposal but shocked the producer out of his wits by stating that his fee would be Rs.2.5 crores. Last heard, the producer hasn’t yet recovered from the shock!
