Prabhu Deva, who returns to Tamil films as a hero after more than a decade with his upcoming film Devi, has asserted that the script of the film is based on a real life incident of the murder of an actress in Mumbai a few years back.
Speaking to newsmen at a promotional event to promote his Tamil-Telugu-Hindi trilingual Devi (titled as Abhinetri in Telugu and Tutak Tutak Tutiya in Hindi), the bearded Prabhu Deva said that Devi can’t be billed as an out-and-out horror film though it might have some horror-filled sequences in it.
“I’m happy to be back in Tamil films as an actor with Devi; I’m surprised to find that fans’ love and affection hasn’t diminished at all. I shall continue to act in films which have scope for me to perform,” he said. Turning his attention to the script of Devi, Prabhu Deva confessed that the film was based on the real-life incident of the murder of an actress in Mumbai a few years back.
“My production house is duty-bound to produce quality films which are watchable by all. Devi is just the right beginning for us. Tamannaah has essayed her roles in two get-ups very convincingly.
Sonu Sood plays a prominent role in the film which has four songs out of which one sing has my dance with my trademark dance movements. The script is set in the backdrop of Coimbatore. It would be a thoroughly enjoyable film by all sections of the audiences,” he concluded.
