The video piracy menace has forced the producer of Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Remo to cancel the premiere shows of the film in foreign countries.
The producer has taken the hard decision, as foreign premiere shows mint money to the producers, as it is widely believed that pirated DVDs are produced only during such shows held abroad.
Starring Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh in the lead and directed by debutant director Bakkiyaraj Kannan, Remo is all set to hit the screens in less than a weeks’ time on 07th October (next Friday).
Awarded an ‘U’ certificate by the Censors, the film has Sivakarthikeyan donning a female nurse and the film’s promotional stills have already created unprecedented interest in the film. Shopping malls in Chennai and elsewhere have the portrait of ‘nurse’ Sivakarthikeyan greeting them as part of the film’s publicity campaign.
Despite the huge profits which might accrue via premiere shows abroad, the producer has taken the hard decision not to arrange premiere shows so as not to give room to any chances of making of pirated DVDs. As such, the first show on the film’s date of release on 07th October would now be the film’s premiere show!
