Three heroes have been gearing up for a clash over the next weekend and during the ‘extended weekend’ on the eve of ‘Ayudha Pooja’ and ‘Saraswati Pooja’ holidays. Sivakarthikeyan’s Remo, Vijay Sethupathi’s Rekka and Prabhu Deva’s Devi are releasing in theatres next Friday (07th October).
Devi is releasing simultaneously in Telugu (as Abhinetri) and Hindi (as Tutak Tutak Tutiya) and marks to the return of Prabhu Deva, one of Bollywood’s most successful film-makers, as hero in Tamil films after 12 long years. ‘Milky beauty’ Tamannaah is paired up opposite him. Sonu Sood has produced the film which has been directed by A.L. Vijay. It also has Amy Jackson in a ‘guest appearance’.
Sivakarthikeyan’s Remo, said to be the most expensive film in his career thus far, has been produced by ‘24 AM Stutios’ and has been helmed by debutant Bakkiyaraj Kannan. Sivakarthikeyan’s make-over as a ‘female nurse’ has created huge excitement about the film among youths. It pits him opposite Keerthy Suresh, who pairedup opposite him for Rajini Murugan which released in theatres early this year.
Vijay Sethupathi, on a roll with five successive hit films in Naanum Rowdydhaan, Kaadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, Sethupathi, Dharma Durai and Aandavan Kattalai, is having his Rekka releasing next Friday along with Sivakarthikeyan and Prabhu Deva’s films. Directed by Rathina Siva, Rekka pits Vijay Sethupathi and Lakshmi Menon for the first time against each other and has a mysterious backdrop to it!
Let’s see which film manages to take full advantage of the extended weekend holidays as most commercial establishments would remain closed on 10th, 11th and 12th October in view of ‘Dusshera’ or ‘Vijayasadami’!
