It is said that Kamal Haasan might take up, albeit reluctantly, the release in theatres of his Vishwaroopam 2, the sequel to his 2013 super-hit film Vishwaroopam.
Vishwaroopam courted huge pre-release controversies and at one time, when its release in theatres in Tamil Nadu became highly doubtful, Kamal even threatened to vacate from Chennai and settle abroad or in some other State to pursue his career.
The film ultimately released in February and became a super-duper hit film. Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah and Rahul Bose co-starred Kamal Haasan in the film.
Kamal directed the film and it was said that during the making of Vishwaroopam, he had also completed more than 50% of the shoot of its sequel as well.
He completed the remaining portions later but even after three months, producer-distributor Ravichandran of Ascar Films is finding it difficult to release Vishwaroopam 2 in theatres as he is reeling under a huge financial crisis.
Kamal hasn’t been in the best of shape this year after suffering a fracture in the leg three months back. He had the honour of winning the ‘Chevalier’ award from the Govt. of France.
It is now said that as Kamal won’t have any film releasing this year, he is seriously thinking about making efforts to release Vishwaroopam 2 in theatres in the next few weeks!
