Filmmaker Bharathiraja has made an emotional statement on the recent molestation of P Vignesh of the Naam Tamilar Katchi in wake of the Cauvery row.
“Beginning from Muthukumar who set him selves on fire for Lankan Tamilians Issue followed by Senkodi in Kanchipuram to Vignesh who ended his life for Cauvery River issue dispute has left deep scar in my heart. It pains in agony. My eyes was wet like a pond. Struggle began when civilization began and that too Tamilians who are first on earth has this more in them.
You can be a fighter; the protest can be for your language, your group or for your community. But one has to live his life to achieve success and enjoy the results of this protest. By killing yourself no protester will succeed. It becomes a news and incident for others. If you had been alive, you could have participated in more protests and worked more for Naam Tamizhar but Today you lost it because of your death.
Death is no solution, it is like suicide. Friends read history of great leaders with intelligence. Never waste your life. We can create one lakh Pattal Nagaraj, but that is not good. A Tamilian will have self respect and proceeds in a straight forward manner. We will live on protest and there is only one life.
Let us enjoy duty of earth, Tamil and Tamil Community. Let us protest in a peaceful manner. The Death today has become a point of discussion in few TV Channels for commercial purpose,” says Bharathiraja.
