Karthi, a film distributor and who has been in the news for the past few days for his marriage to actress Satna Titus, has said that she didn’t marry Satna forcefully nor did he indulge in the act of ‘brainwashing’ her.
Satna, who debuted as heroine in Tamil films by pairing up opposite music director-turned-actor Vijay Antony in Pichaikkaran early this year, surprised her relatives, friends and those in the industry by getting married to film distributor Karthi. Satna’s mother, however, cried foul and accused Karthi of having ‘brainwashed’ her daughter and forcing her into accepting his marriage proposal.
After their recent marriage which was registered formally, Satna has been refusing film offers and has also returned the advance money she took from a few producers to star in the films, giving a clear hint that she won’t be in films anymore.
“I and Satna fell in love and got married. When we decided to get married, we faced stiff opposition from the parents on both the sides. As such, we got married in secrecy but registered out marriage. Early next year, we shall go for a grand marriage after planning things properly. We got married with the full consent of both of us and Satna’s mother’s allegation that I forced Satna is completely wrong,” Karthi says.
