Actress Trisha has apologized to her friends, fans and well-wishers for not promoting her latest Tamil film Nayagi which hit the screens across Tamil Nadu yesterday.
Directed by Govardhan Reddy and starring Trisha in the lead, Nayagi released in theatres yesterday. It may be noted that the film was made bilingual in Tamil and Telugu and that it’s Telugu version titled as Nayaki was released on 16th July. It received a lukewarm response from the audiences in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana and was declared as a ‘failure’ in three days itself!
Trisha’s fans took to social networking sites criticizing her saying that Trisha didn’t bother about promoting the Tamil version Nayagi as she was already aware of what would be the result (in theatres) of the film. Reacting to her fans, Trisha tweeted yesterday and said “If I remained silent or kept mum about a film of mine, I won’t do so without any valid reasons for doing so.
“I tender my sincere apologies to my friends as well as my friends in the media. Very soon, I shall come out with a detailed explanation on the accusations that I didn’t promote Nayagi; thanks for your love and affection and continued patronage!” she said.
