For the second time in her life, Panneer Pushpangal fame Shanthi Krishna has opted for divorce.
Shanthi Krishna, younger sister of director Suresh Krishna and who debuted as heroine with the director duo of Bharathi-Vasu in 1981 with the super-duper musical hit Panneer Pushpangal, went on to star in more than 40 Tamil and Malayalam films. Besides her debut film, she was also noted for her work in films such as Manal Kayiru, Simla Special, Anbulla Malare and Nerukku Ner.
She married Mollywood actor Srinath in 1984 but separated after 11 years of matrimony and parted ways in 1995. Within three years, Shanthi married for the second time by tying the nuptial knot with U.S.-based industrialist Sadhasivam. Serious differences arose between the two due to which they appeared for mutual separation.
As both of them were residing in Karnataka, they filed for divorce with the Family Court in Bangalore which awarded the divorce decree on Friday. Later, Shanthi announced her intention to start focusing yet again on her film career.
