Veteran actor Vijayakumar, who has been in the industry right from the days of the late and legendary MGR and Sivaji Ganesan, has praised ‘Thala’ Ajith Kumar as someone who has always felt extremely happy about the progress/growth of his co-stars.
Vijayakumar was speaking at the audio-launch of Kuttram 23 starring his son and actor Arun Vijay in the lead. Mahima Nambiar and Abhinaya are the two heroines in the film which has been directed by Eeram and Vallinam fame Arivazhagan. Thambi Ramaiah, Vamsi Krishna, Vijayakumar, Amit Bhargav and Aravind Akash have essayed prominent roles in the film.
Directors Gautham Menon, Sasi and S.P. Jananathan, actors ‘Jayam’ Ravi, Bharath, Srikanth and Riyaz Khan were among others who took part in the audio and trailer launch of the film. Vijayakumar said that he owed his ‘special thanks’ to Gautham Vasudev Menon for casting him in last year’s super-hit Yennai Arindhaal at a time when Arun Vijay was struggling to find his feet in the industry.
“I and my son would always remain thankful to Menon for casting Vijay in Yennai Arindhaal. Ajith reposed confidence in Vijay’s ability and agreed to him getting an almost equal space in the film as the antagonist. I also owe a lot to Ajith, who has this great quality of feeling happy about the progress/growth registered by his co-stars,” Vijayakumar said.
