Thanks to comedian Santhanam’s recent decision to play only the lead role in films, RJ-turned-actor RJ Balaji seems to have become the latest favourite comedian of producers and directors.
Though he had starred in a few films earlier, his role as the main comedian in last year’s super-duper hit film Naanum Rowdydhaan earmarked him to display his comic sense. He now has plenty of films on his hands including Kadavul Irukkaan Kumaru, Dev(y)i, Kavalai Vendaam, etc.
Balaji is in talks with more film-makers to sign up many more projects in the days to come. However, he is waiting for a ‘major break’ by signing up Suriya, Ajith or Vijay’s films as it would hugely help his growth as a comedian. Balaji’s recent surge has no doubt blocked a few movies which would otherwise have gone to Sathish.
Balaji’s creative instincts wherein he reportedly ‘adds’ his own inputs during the shoot of comic sequences involving himself is said to be making things easy for his directors even as he has Sathish and Soori to contend with!
