The huge question in industry-circles is this: what could have probably made superstar Rajinikanth choose to work again with his Kabali director Pa. Ranjith so soon and within a few weeks of the release of Kabali?
Released on 22nd July, Kabali enters its seventh week in theatres today and would be celebrating its 50 days in theatres next Friday (09th September). It has been announced recently that Rajini, who is shooting for Shankar’s upcoming film 2.0, would soon start to shoot for his next film which would be produced by his son-in-law and actor Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and directed by Kabali fame Pa. Ranjith.
It turns out that a few weeks after the release of Kabali, Rajini’s younger daughter Soundarya called Rajnith over phone and asked him to come and meet her father. When Ranjith and Rajini were conversing, Rajini reportedly told Ranjith that he found working with him ‘very comfortable’ and that he was happy at the huge success of Kabali.
To Ranjith’s surprise, Rajini asked him if he wanted to work with him again. Jumping with joy, Ranjith reportedly narrated a one-line script to Rajini which the latter liked very much and asked Ranjith to start the process of script-writing. It now appears that Ranjith might take some months to complete the scripting process due to which the film is likely to go to floors only early next year.
