Superstar Rajinikanth, who has set high standards for himself, has a long-standing unfulfilled desire which he revealed it to his mentor K. Balachander a few years back.
The late and legendary director, who spotted the ‘actor’ in Rajinikanth and gave him quite a few challenging roles early in his career including unforgettable roles in films such as Avargal, Thillumullu and Netrikann, later produced many Rajini-starrers which were Rajini’s ways of ‘giving back’ to his mentor apparently to bail him out of financial difficulties as Rajini-starrers were always high money-spinners at the box-office.
During an interview, K. Balachander once asked Rajini whether he was worried that he hadn’t won the national award for ‘best actor’ yet. Pat came the reply from Rajini, who always speaks straight from the heart, who said that it was indeed something which was bothering him but added that he would do his best in the coming years to realize this unfulfilled wish.
It is said that Rajini’s wish might be fulfilled when the next set of national awards are announced as Rajini’s acting in his latest super-duper hit film Kabali has moved his millions of fans, movie-goers, critics and others. Rajini didn’t lag behind in uttering punch-dialogues in the film but also took care to ensure that he was equal to the task of emoting subtly the feelings of his character on many occasions in the film.
Kabali crew is gearing up to send the film to the national awards selection committee for considering Rajini for choosing him for the national award for ‘best actor’!
