The Regional Censor Board has awarded ‘U/A’ certificate to actor Vikram’s upcoming film Iru Mugan which releases in theatres next Friday (09th September).
Directed by Anand Shankar (of Arima Nambi fame), Vikram is paired up opposite Nayantara and Nithya Menen in the film which has the national award-winning actor Thambi Ramaiah in a prominent role. Harris Jayaraj has scored the music of the film whose audio was released recently. Fans of Vikram and Nayantara have been lapping up the songs and the trailer which was also simultaneously released.
The Regional Censor Board officials, who watched the film a couple of days back, have awarded an ‘U/A’ certification to the film which means that the film would neither qualify for exemption of entertainment tax by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu nor could it be watched by those below 18 years of age. It is said that some violent sequences in the film forced the Censors to tag it as an ‘U/A’ film.
Vikram has been promoting the film hard and was recently Kerala as part of his promotional tour when he was accorded a very warm welcome by Keralites. Shibu Thameens, who made Vijay’s Puli last year, is the producer of the film which hits the screens next Friday (09th September).
