‘Comedy King’ Goundamani, who has inspired many comedians after him including the likes of Santhanam and Sathish, would be back in action soon as two of his films are releasing in succession.
Goundamani occupies major screen spaces in almost all regional television channels dedicated wholly for humour-filled sequences. One could easily lose count on the number of times Goundamani’s many famed comic sequences are being aired repeatedly at various timings on these television channels. The 70-something veteran would be back on big screen on 25th August with not one but two films.
Vaaimai, which stars Goundamani in a major role and has Shantanoo, Prithvi, Manoj and Thiyagarajan in prominent roles, is releasing on 25th August. Goundamani’s role of ‘Dr. Benny’ in the film and his trademark ‘counters’ are sure to bring the roof down, the film’s crew assures as it’s a political satire, a topic in which Goundamani thrives.
Enakku Veru Engum Kilaigan Illai is another Goundamani-starrer which releases in theatres on the same day. Goundamani plays a caravan operator in the film which takes a ‘dig’ at various aspects of film-making and about the artistes/technicians themselves!
