Sources close to the Unit of Shankar’s upcoming film 2.0, which has superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, say that Rajini would resume shoot of the film from the last week of this month.
Rajini’s Kabali, which is directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by ‘Kalaipuli’ S. Thanu, released in theatres worldwide on 22nd July and has been rocking the halls in Tamil Nadu, the rest of the country and even in theatres abroad. Rajini was holidaying in U.S. at the time of release of Kabali which has turned into a block-buster hit film and has collected more than Rs.600 crores at the global box-office so far.
Rajini, who was also shooting for Shankar’s 2.0 (sequel to his 2010 hit film Enthiran: The Robot) even when he was shooting for Kabali last year and early this year. 50% of the shoot of Rajini’s 2.0 had been wrapped up when Rajini left for U.S. in May for health check-up and subsequent rest. He returned to Chennai only after a couple of days after the release of Kabali.
Though he is on an extended rest, sources close to Rajini say that he is perfectly fit and roaring to go. The shoot of the next schedule of the film involving Rajinikanth would commence in the last week of August, it is informed. As reported earlier, Bollywood’s Akshay ‘Khiladi’ Kumar plays the antagonist in the film which has Briton Amy Jackson as the female lead, though not as Rajini’s heroine!
