If rumours floating in Kollywood are any indication to go by, it seems that comedian Santhanam is likely to replace ‘Jayam’ Ravi as the hero of a new film to be directed by ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon.
Menon is presently making Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada with Simbu in the lead even as he is directing Dhanush in Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta. It seems that Simbu hasn’t cooperated as well as he should have in completing his second film with Menon. In the meantime, Menon is directing Dhanush-starrer and has also started work on his next film which hasn’t yet been titled.
Menon’s next film is to star ‘Jayam’ Ravi, Puneeth Rajkumar, Fahadh Faassil or Prithviraj in the lead. It would also have three heroines including Anushka and Tamannaah. As ‘Jayam’ Ravi is very busy and hasn’t yet given the nod to Menon to star in the film, the latter is said to have decided to cast Santhanam in the role he had perceived for ‘Jayam’ Ravi.
Santhanam, who has played the lead roles in four films so far, is to start work soon as hero in Selvaraghavan’s new film besides in Server Sundaram directed by debutant Anand Balki, a former aide of ace director Mani Ratnam. If Menon’s film comes his way, Santhanam would no doubt consider himself very lucky as very few heroes get (offers) to star in simultaneous films made by Selvaraghavan and Gautham Menon.
