Continuing its record-breaking spree at all levels, superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film Kabali has managed to collect a whopping Rs.10 crores in its first 10 days in theatres in Chennai city alone.
Starring Rajinikanth, Radhika Apte, Sai Dhansika, Rityvika, Kalaiyarasan, Kishore and Dinesh in lead roles, the film’s Tamil, Telugu and Hindi released worldwide on 22nd July with its Malay version released a week later.
Sathyam Cinemas released Kabali in Chennai city after acquiring the release rights of the film for Rs.6.5 crores. Within the first three days after hitting the screens on 22nd July, the film had collected more than Rs.4 crores in Chennai, which is a kind of ‘opening’ never witnessed in the city.
On Sunday (31st July), Kabali completed its 10 days in theatres and its collection tally stands at Rs.9.98 crores for Chennai alone. Trade circles say that the film is likely to collect at least Rs.4-5 crores, if not more, in Chennai alone.
