RJ-turned-actor Balaji has said that he felt like his childhood dreams had become true when he got the offer the play a role in ace director Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film.
A popular RJ, Balaji has also become known as a comedian in Tamil films and touched the emotional chords of people by voluntarily indulging in rescue act during last December’s unprecedented floods which inundated parts of Chennai and its suburbs for 04 days. He now has films such as Kadavul Irukkan Kumaru, Parandhu Chella Vaa and Kavalai Vendaam on his hands.
In the meantime, he has been signed up to play a significant role in Mani Ratnam’s next film which stars Karthi and Aditi Rao Hyadri in the lead. “I grew up watching Mani Ratnam’s films and I can’t believe that I would be starring in a film directed by him!” says Balaji. A.R. Rahman scores the music of the film which would be cinematographed by Ravi Varman.
The film’s shoot commences tomorrow (08th July) in Ooty’s picturesque locales with the shoot of a song. Karthi plays a pilot in the film which is a romantic action film. Though the film has been tentatively titled as Kaatru Veliyidai Kannamma, the title hasn’t yet been confirmed to the press by the film’s crew.
