Actors Vishal, Karthi, Arya and ‘Jayam’ Ravi are coming together for a common cause: to star in films together to raise funds for constructing a building for housing the office of Nadigar Sangam.
Nassar & Co. (comprising Nasser, Vishal, Karthi, Karunas and Ponvannan) contested last October’s Nadigar Sangam polls on the premise of construting a new building for the Sangam and trounced the incumbent team lead by Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi. An estimated cost of Rs.29 crores was worked out to construct the building for which Rs.20 crores have been collected during the star cricket tourney organized by the Sangam a few weeks back.
It turns out that the funds collected via the cricket tourney are not enough to commence the construction work. In order to earn more for the purpose, the Sangam is to produce two films. One of the films would star Vishal and Karthi together while the other film would star ‘Jayam’ Ravi and Arya together for the first time. The script for the Vishal-Karthi starrer has been finalized, it is reported.
Fee to be paid by Karthi and Vishal for the film would be added to the collected funds for constructing the building. Moreover, the profits earned by the film at the box-office would also be donated to the Sangam. The film would be made in two months to be released by October-November. Film starring ‘Jayam’ Ravi and Arya would go to floors early next year.
The proposed premises would be a 5-storey building and would house a huge office for Sangam, a 1000-seat capacity auditorium, a spacious marriage hell, a preview theatres, a seminar hall, gym, dance training hall, etc. Construction work is likely to begin from next August.
