Four years after he debuted in Tamil films as hero with director Prabhu Solomon’s emotion-filled romantic story Kumki, actor Vikram Prabhu has said that he would be working with Solomon again soon for the sequel to Kumki.
Released in December, 2012 and starring Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon in lead roles, Kumki rode on a water-tight script as well as scintillating performances from Vikram Prabhu, Lakshmi Menon and Thambi Ramaiah to court success at the box-office. Imman’s feet-tapping numbers only added to the film’s popularity.
Vikram Prabhu, who has proved during the short span of time since Kumki released that he is adept in playing rural as well as urban characters, hasn’t had many films releasing in the past two years. He had Vellaikaara Durai in 2014 and Idhu Enna Maayam in 2015 as solitary releases. This year, though, he is expecting at least two of his films in Wagah and Veera Sivaji to release in theatres.
Speaking to newsmen recently, Vikram Prabhu said that he would soon be working again with director Solomon in sequel to Kumki. “A formal announcement about the sequel would be made soon,” he expressed his confidence even as Solomon is busy in releasing his Thodari (starring Dhanush and Keerthi Suresh in the lead) in theatres.
