Simbu has thanked his fans in particular and audiences in general for making his latest release Idhu Namma Aalu a super-hit venture.
After innumerable delays, the Pandiraj-directed Simbu-Nayantara-Andrea Jeremiah starrer Idhu Namma Aalu finally released in theatres last Friday (27th May). Despite mixed reviews about the length of the film, the film has met with success thanks to Simbu, Nayantara’s neat portrayal, Andrea’s extended cameo and Soori’s comedy.
Trade circles say that the film met with a huge ‘opening’ during its initial days, which is easily the best response witnessed to a Simbu-starrer so far. Simbu-Nayan’s pairing after 10 long years has indeed been welcomed whole-heartedly by the masses.
The film collected more than 17 crores in Tamil Nadu in its first week. It is estimated that the film’s collections in halls across the globe could have touched Rs.25 crores.
“Thanks to my fans and audiences for making Idhu Namma Aalu a super-hit venture; I had been waiting for long for this day. Thanks to the Almighty’s grace, it has become true!” Simbu has said in a signed statement even as his Gautham Menon-directed Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada is gearing up for its release in theatres on 15th July.
