T. Rajender, producer of his son Simbu’s latest film Idhu Namma Aalu, has submitted a petition to the City police Commissioner asking him to bring to book the culprits who had purposely released the film on the Internet.
Starring ex-flames Simbu and Nayantara opposite each other after almost a decade, the film has been doing very well. Critics and Simbu’s fans have lauded Simbu’s subtle performance in the film which also has Andrea Jeremiah, Santhanam, Soori and Adaah Sharma in lead roles. Debutant music director Kuralarasan’s music has also come under praise from critics.
“My firm spent crores of rupees to produce Idhu Namma Aalu which is the product of hard-work and effort put in by hundreds of workers and technicians.
The film released in theatres last Friday (27th May) but it was released on the Net by some culprits on the very next day (28th May) itself. I request you to kindly book the culprits and prevent me from suffering loss of crores of rupees,” Rajender’s complaint said.
In his complaint, T. Rajender has also mentioned the list of internet websites in which the film had reportedly been leaked.
