Actor Kishore, who has built up quite a reputation for himself as an actor of substance who can dazzle in any kind of role(s), would be stepping into Samuthirakani’s shoes when the remake of Saattai is made.
Released in September, 2012, Saattai starred Samuthirakani as the protagonist in the role of a teacher. Anbazhagan directed the film which had national award-winning actor Thambi Ramaiah in a negative role. Yuvan, Mahima Nambiar and Swasika played the lead roles in the film which had music by D. Imman.
Most sequels attempted/made in the past in Kollywood didn’t exactly commence from where the prequels ended. The case of Saattai sequel would be very different as the makers have decided to commence the film’s shoot from exactly where the first part ended. Suriya’s Singam 2 also fell in this genre as it commenced in right earnest from where Singam ended.
Shalom Studios, which made Saattai, would be making the sequel replacing (for some unknown reasons) Samuthirakani with the talented Kishore. Thambi Ramaiah would be essaying a major role again while the hunt is on for other artistes and technicians to work in the film. Gautham, who had earlier assisted many directors, makes his debut as director with Saattai sequel.
