Actor Suriya has expressed his wish that his upcoming sci-fi thriller 24 should collect Rs.240 crores at the global box-office.
Starring Suriya, Samantha and Nithya Menen in the lead and with Girish Karnad, Ajay, Saranya Ponvannan, Sathyan and Mohan V. Raman in prominent roles, the meet-the-press event in connection with the theatrical release of 24 (on 06th May) was held yesterday in the city. Vikram Kumar, the director, Suriya, Sarayna, producer Gnanavel Raja and lyricist Madan Karky attended the press-meet.
After releasing a ‘game’ on the eve of the film’s release, Suriya said “Films such as Nerukku Ner, Poovellaam Kettupar, Nandha, Ghajini, Pithamagan, Kakka Kakka and Singam had been milestone movies in my sojourn in the film industry. I’m sure 24 is one such film which releases next Friday (06th May) in more than 2,150 halls the world over.
“I want 24 to collect more than Rs.200 in the global market; in fact, I’d be very happy if it collects Rs.240 crores. Samantha and Nithya Menen have delivered amazing performances in the film. I can’t say anything about my character in the film as it’s a closely kept guarded secret which would be revealed next Friday when the film hits the screens,” Suriya concluded.
