Karthik Subbaraj, the director who has shown enough hints that his objective is to make meaningful films, has said that his upcoming directorial venture Iraivi would be a dedication to women and womenhood.
Starring Anjali, Kamalinee Mukherjee, S.J. Suryah, Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha and Karunakaran in lead roles and produced jointly by Studio Green, Abhi & Abhi Pictures and Thirukkumaran Entertainment, Iraivi has been in the making for a long time now. Sivakumar Vijayan and Santhosh Narayanan are the cinematographer and music director of the film respectively.
“Iraivi would be very different from my earlier films Pizza and Jigarthanda. The script narrates in a powerful manner as to what role women play in our lives and what we have to do in return for them. It’s a film highlighting women-hood and feminity and we are planning to release it in theatres on 20th May,” says Subbaraj.
Vijay Sethupathi has opined that Iraivi deals with typical feminine issues that have so far escaped film-makers’ attention over the years.
