Believe it or not: the ever-shy Santhosh Narayanan, the bearded music director who spurned the offer to be kissed by actress Pooja on stage at an event last year, has danced for a song in film-maker Karthik Subbaraj’s upcoming multi-starrer Iraivi!
Burly Subbaraj has wrapped up the shoot of his third directorial venture after his super-successful films such as Pizza and Jigarthanda which were critically acclaimed.
As such, expectations are only too high on Karthik’s third product Iraivi whih has an unusual star-cast in S.J. Suryah, Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Anjali and the ‘comeback’ girl Kamalinee Mukherjee (remember Kamal Haasan’s Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu heroine?).
Santhosh Narayanan, whose stature in the industry has gone up by several notches as he scores he music of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kabali, is the music composer of the film. The audio-launch of the film is slated to be held tomorrow (15th April). It turns out that Santhosh has danced for a song in the film; it hasn’t been revealed whether it’s a ‘gaana’ song or an ‘item number’.
Whether it’s a prelude to Santhosh’s idea of playing hero in future in films would be known only later as it has caught up as a trend with music directors to turn heroes. After G.V. Prakash Kumar and Vijay Antony, ‘Hiphop’ Tamizha is the latest music director to turn hero. It may not be much of a surprise if Santhosh turns a hero in the near future!
