The Udhayaidhi-Hansika starrer Manithan has been awarded an ‘U’ certificate by the Regional Censor Board, Chennai.
Co-starring Vivek, Radha Ravi and Prakash Raj, Manithan is the title of a super-duper Rajinikanth hit film which released in the mid-eighties. Udhayanidhi, who was a producer and distributor earlier, sought prior permission from AVM Productions, which produced the Rajini-starrer, to name his film after Rajini’s successful film.
Remake of the Bollywood hit film Jolly LLB, Manithan has been directed by E. Ahmed (Endrendrum Punnagai fame) and has music by Santhosh Narayanan. Minor changes in the script have been made to suit Tamil audiences’ tastes. The ‘U’ certificate means that the film could be viewed by all, irrespective of the age barrier.
Manithan brings together Udhayanidhi and Hansika, the hit pair of Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, after a few years’ gap. It also has Vivek and Udhayanidhi together for the first time.
