Superstar Rajinikanth has assured his millions of fans around the globe that his upcoming film Kabali would be hitting the screens in June.
There was some misunderstanding about the theatrical release of Kabali as it was first expected to release on Tamil New Year’s Day (tomorrow) but was later postponed to May. However, with Assembly polls scheduled to be held in the State next month, the film’s release has been postponed by another month to release in June.
Rajini was speaking to newspersons on Monday night on his way to the national capital to receive the honour of ‘Padma Vibhushan’ award which was conferred on him by President Pranab Mukherjee at a glittering function yesterday.
Bollywood’s Priyanka Chopra (remember the Tamizhan actress?) and tennis ace Sania Mirza were also among the ‘Padma’ awardees who later posed proudly with the superstar.
When newsmen queried him about ‘Padma Vibhushan’, Rajini said that he felt very honoured by the award and added that he had already expressed his pleasure and gratitude to the Centre for choosing him for the award.
To another query, he said that he was hopeful that Kabali would be hitting the screens worldwide in the first fortnight of June.
