Pandiraj, director of the national award-winning film Pasanga and who has directed Simbu’s upcoming film Idhu Namma Aalu, has remained non-committal about the release of the film in theatres.
The film, starring ex-flames Simbu and Nayantara together as on-screen pair after almost a decade after their only film together in Vallavan, was touted as a ‘casting coup’ by Pandiraj as he managed to sign up the two exes to star opposite each other more than two years back. The film’s shoot was wrapped up only a few weeks back with the shoot of an ‘item song’ featuring Simbu and Adah Sharma.
At a time when Simbu’s fans are eagerly awaiting the film’s release on its scheduled date of Tamil New year Day (14th April – next Thursday), Pandiraj has uploaded a confusing video clip on his Twitter account stating that the film won’t release on the ‘scheduled’ day but would release only as per the wishes of the crew.
Andrea Jeremiah, Soori, Jayaprakash, Uday Mahesh, Madhusudhan Rao and Dheepa besides Jai and Santhanam (in guest appearances) are part of the film’s cast which has music by T.R. Kuralarasan, the debutant music director who is also the younger sibling of Simbu. It remains to be seen whether the film releases next week on its scheduled date or faces yet another delay!
