Saiprasad, a popular small-screen actor who had been a prominent figure in the dance reality and other shows hosted by Vijay TV during the past few years, committed suicide in Chennai on Sunday night by drinking poisonous liquid.
Saiprasad, who had also starred in a few Tamil films including Neram and Aindhaam Padai, was found dead at his Valasaravakkam residence on Sunday. He was also known for his mimicry skills. His parents reside in Bangalore whereas Saiprasad was living at Valasaravakkam with his second wife.
On being informed by neighbours, police arrived at the spot, broke open the doors, retrieved Saiprasad’s body and sent it for post-mortem to the Kilpauk Govt. Medical College. Saiprasad has left a lengthy suicide note stating his own ‘state of mind’ was responsible for him to take a decision to end his life and sought apology from his second wife Niranjana and friends for doing so.
Police has registered a case and have been inquiring into the reasons which forced him to commit suicide. It is said that Niranjana’s decision to walk out a few days back after a fight with Saiprasad might have forced him to take the unfortunate decision.
