Bearded Prabhu Deva, the versatile choreographer-turned-actor-turned-filmmaker, is finally back in Tamil films to play the lead role.
His last film where he played a major role was Engal Anna, which was incidentally Namitha’s debut film. Afterwards, Prabhu Deva starred only in a solitary Tamil film Kalavadiya Pozhudhugal directed by Thangar Bachchan which lies in cold storage for the past many years.
He then forayed into Telugu films as film-maker and slowly moved to Hindi films where he is now counted as one of the sure-fire directors who could deliver hit films at regular intervals.
Speaking about his return to Tamil films as an actor, Prabhu Deva said “I have cut down on my acting assignments for the past decade; I always wanted to direct a horror film but being part of this film has almost fulfilled this wish.
“It is also my first horror film; though I would appear in my trademark beard, my get-up would look different in this film,” he said. Prabhu Deva is the producer of the film whose shoot is taking place in Pune. ‘Milky beauty’ Tamannaah plays the heroine in the film opposite Prabhu Deva.
