Impending Assembly elections in the State have forced Kollywood to react in a manner in which it has reacted in the past: hurrying with the release of films or delaying them beyond a certain limit. As many as six films are slated to hit the screens tomorrow, which would be the second Friday in March.
Kollywood is well aware that the politically conscious people of the State would be very attentive in the election process and the high-pitched campaign by political parties which would commence by the first week of April. As such, big films such as Vijay’s Theri and Suriya’s 24, which were slated to release on April 14 on Tamil New Year’s Day, might face postponements.
The six films which are to release tomorrow are: Vijay Sethupathi-Madonna’s Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, Aviyal, Ennai Pudichirukka, Kodai Mazhai, Mapla Singam and Natpadhikaram.
Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum is easily the most-awaited film in the list followed by the ever-bubbly Anjali-Vimal starrer Mapla Singam.
