Dhanush, the national award-winning actor who is also a lyricist, playback singer and producer, has said that his next production venture Amma Kanakku would be released in theatres in April.
Starring Samuthirakani, Revathi, Amala Paul and Dhanush (in a guest role), Amma Kanakku is the remake of the Bollywood venture Nil Battey Sannata. Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, who directed the Hindi version, also directs the Tamil version, thereby making her directorial debut in Tamil.
Maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s music is certainly the high-point of the film whose script reportedly is an emotional one dealing with the eternal mother-daughter bonding. The film’s shoot, which commenced on 06th January, has been wrapped up on this Tuesday (23rd February), which means that the crew worked over time to complete the film’s shoot in just 48 days.
Tweeting on his Twitter account, Dhanush has thanked Ashwini and her crew for completing the film in record time. “The film would be released in April,” he said, not mentioning the date.
