In the industry now for more than three decades, former general secretary of Nadigar Sangam and veteran actor Radha Ravi has asserted that his role in the upcoming film Jil Jung Juk might turn out to be the best in his career.
Radha Ravi was speaking at a recently-held meet-the-press event held in connection with the film’s release in theatres next week (12th February).
Produced by Siddharth, the film has been directed by Deeraj Vaidy and has music by Vishal Chandrashekhar. Music directors Santhosh Narayanan, Anirudh Ravichander and Sean Roldan, Andrea Jremiah and Siddharth have sung songs in the fim.
Invited to stage by Siddharth who termed Radha Ravi as ‘youth icon’, Radha Ravi started speaking with a smile on his lips. “I appreciate Siddharth for the flood relief work he performed in December in Chennai and elsewhere.
Usually, I don’t take fee for one film per year if the script appealed to me; I wanted to do so but Siddharth insisted that I should take my fee for starring in the film.
“No heroine in the film isn’t a flaw; in fact, the film has turned out very well. Even I have sung a song in the film. After hearing the song, I have got an offer from Mumbai to sing another song. It is indeed surprising that a person from my family (voices of my father and uncle are very famous) gets to sing a song,” Radha Ravi said smilingly.
“I have starred in 310 films in more than 35 years; however, I’m sure the upcoming Jil Jung Juk would be termed as my best-ever performance till date,” he concluded.
