Reports emanating from Tollywood say that producer-director Lingusamy is planning to make a direct Telugu film starring ‘young gun’ Allu Arjun in the lead. The film would also be made simultaneously in Tamil, thereby making it as Arjun’s debut film in Tamil.
One of the prominent producer-directors in Kollywood, Lingusamy has not only been producing and directing films but has also been taking up distribution of films in the State.
Despite successes with Goli Soda, Manja Pai and Sathuranga Vettai, his last two production ventures in Suriya’s Anjaan and Kamal Haasan’s Uttama Villain bombed at the box-office, shattering Lingusamy.
Thanks to the recent success of his production venture Rajni Murugan, Lingusamy has now recovered considerably. He is to soon make a film starring Allu Arjun in the lead and has announced that the film would be made as a bilingual simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, thereby making it Allu Arjun’s first direct Tamil film.
Allu Arjun, who is fluent in Tamil and donated Rs.25 lakhs to Chennaiites during last year’s December floods, would be shown as a ‘stylish’ and ‘dashing’ hero in the untitled film.
Lingusamy’s upcoming projects include Sandakozhi 2 starring Vishal in the lead and the Hindi remake of Paiyaah starring Vidyut Jamwal (remember the menacing villain in Thuppakki?) in thelead.
