Actor Madhavan has termed his act of kissing actress-turned-politician Khushboo on a recent television reality show as a ‘brotherly’ kiss given to a sister
After 7 years, Madhavan had his first Tamil film (as solo hero) releasing in theatres last Friday in the form of Sudha Kongara’s Irudhi Suttru which has been received with huge response by his fans and movie-goers.
Critics have also lauded the film, Maddy and Ritika Singh’s performances and Kongara’s narration. Trade pundits have predicted the film to become a super-duper hit.
As part of his efforts to promote the film, Madhavan took part in a recent reality show hosted by Khushboo. During the show, Khushboo got up from her seat and went up to Madhavan after he repeated for audiences’ sake a popular dialogue uttered by him many years back in one of his successful films. Maddy planted a kiss on Khushboo’s cheeks which she gleefully accepted.
The photo went viral on social networking sites with some objecting to two adults kissing on a reality show. Replying to controversies surrounding the kiss, Maddy said “I won’t defend the kiss saying we are in the industry and we know each other for a long time; it was just an affectionate kiss planted by a brother on her elder sister’s cheeks; I think this should put an end to all the controversies!”
